State of N.C. and Bluegreen Corporation Announce That The State Parks System Will Acquire The 692 Acres  Up For Rezoning For Expansion of Haw River State Park.

HAW RIVER FESTIVAL 2008    (19th Annual!)

Saturday May 10    1-6 p.m. at the old Bynum Bridge in Chatham County

Directions:
Bynum is off Hwy 15-501 about 12 miles south of Chapel Hill and 4 miles north of Pittsboro.
Take Bynum Road to the old Bynum Bridge and follow signs for Parking.

Haw River Festival Details:
Live Music!  Silent Art Auction of Clyde Jones' Sunflower paintings and works by local artists
Native Plant Sale,  Nature Walks,  River Monitoring,  Environmental Booths and Canoe Raffle,
Kid's activities:  "Paint a Clyde Critter" and guided canoe rides (kids under 12)
Delicious Food for sale at the Ruritan Club

On Stage
New River Rock Skippers, Rootzie, Risuenos,  Jimmy Magoo, Lost in Trees, Louise Kessel and Jef
Cynthia Crossen and Festival Jan         

Admission
Donation  $5 
$3 for kids under 14 (babies free)
Free for volunteers!

Haw River State Park is looking for volunteers to help plant and maintain several
native plant gardens at the Summit Environment Education Center at HRSP.
